Next week is National Vegetarian Week and is organised by the Vegetarain Society and sponsored by Nothing But.... This year it's all about sharing food with friends and family. This is from their website:
"National Vegetarian Week 2015 is organised by the Vegetarian Society and sponsored by ‘Nothing But’. This year it’s all about sharing and enjoying delicious veggie food with your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and community. It’s a great way to connect with those around you and explore tasty meat-free food together.
Vegetarian food is vibrant, exciting and flavourful, whether it’s the plentiful choices at the supermarket or special menu items at a restaurant. On top of satisfying your taste buds, going vegetarian and eating meat-free food benefits animals, the environment and your health and wellbeing..."
With more and more people choosing to eat less meat and more vegetables, it can somewtimes be tricky to think up lively and exciting new things to cook so with your help we'd like to join in the National Vegetarian Week celebrations by sharing some beautiful and inspirational vegetarian recipes.
So, do you have a favourite vegetarian recipe that you could share with us? It can be for a simple tasty side dish or a full blown main course, a quick snack or a super dessert. It might be something simple with cabbage or your favourite thing to do with tofu or tempeh, a recipe for courgette cake or quinoa salad...
Email us your recipe and we'll post it here in our recipe pages and there'll be links to it from facebook and twitter. If you can take a photo of the finished dish, or of you and your friends or family enjoying it, then we could post that too (just a phone camera photo is fine!) - but don't worry if you haven't, the recipe is what we really need...
