Have you ever heard of Patra leaves? id=

Well we're stocking them in the shop now so I thought it might be useful to tell you a little about them.

Patra is a Gujurati speciality dish made from Colocasia leaves stuffed with spices and gram flour and rolled up.

To prepare them empty out the contents of the tin and using a sharp knife cut thin slices.Patra comes out of the tin as a large roll  id=Slice it thinly  id=

Heat some oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the slicesLightly fry for a couple of minutes on each side.   id= which can then be served with a sharp chutney or a cool cucumber raita.  Patra slices make an excellent starter.
