Have you ever heard of Patra leaves?
Well we're stocking them in the shop now so I thought it might be useful to tell you a little about them.
Patra is a Gujurati speciality dish made from Colocasia leaves stuffed with spices and gram flour and rolled up.
To prepare them empty out the contents of the tin and using a sharp knife cut thin slices.
Heat some oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the slices which can then be served with a sharp chutney or a cool cucumber raita. Patra slices make an excellent starter.
Or you serve it like this - with a simple dall and rice. It's tasty!
Here's a video showing how to make Patra from scratch at home.... http://youtu.be/f9NuzMGNsXc
