Mark remembered that he hasn't used aubergines in the boxes for ages and as they have come down to a reasonable price he's popped them in this week. So it felt timely to find a recipe for Aubergines as I was browsing twitter... this is going to be tonight's tea (or something based on it!)picture from Check out her blog! id=

Egg Plant Rollatini

We're just starting to see organically grown Asparagus come in from Spain, now, so UK grown spears shouldn't be too far behind which is something to look forward to in the coming weeks.

We are delighted to be able to use a fair amount of UK produce this week including lettuces and cucumbers. The season is definitely changing!

This week's potato is Red Cara – a good all-rounder that in the past we have recognised as one that resists the Spring pressure to sprout! The Apples in the fruit boxes will either be Spartans again or Regal we're not quite sure yet.

  • Potatoes – Red Cara 1.2kg
  • Carrots 500g
  • Onions 500g
  • Aubergine 400g (approx)
  • Celery
  • Cucumber (UK)
  • Tomatoes 400g
  • Tues/Weds A Bag of Kale
  • Thurs/Fri a Cauliflower

B’s will get Beetroot 500g in place of potatoes
D’s will get a further 800g of potatoes and a bag of UK grown Chard
E’s will get the Beetroot and a UK Grown Lettuce
L’s and M’s will get the above additions and a Red Pepper

G’s will get Leeks and Chard rather than the Spanish Aubergines and Tomatoes. There are still some UK grown onions which appear in the G boxes but they are trying to sprout now. We do try to spot them before they go in but don’t always get every one. Let us know if you have any problems and we’ll arrange a credit. We hope it won’t be too long before we’re able to use freshly grown UK onions in the boxes but not quite there yet.

Sorry  No fruit box list here yet (it's Sunday and I'm working at home!)I'll aim to get it up here tomorrow.
