We are well into apple blossom season in the northern hemisphere. We have added a new feature to our Apple Tree Register so that if you have your own trees you can record the peak blossom dates for this and future seasons. The data collected so far already shows that blossom dates can fluctuate by several weeks in different years.
If you would like to record your own blossom dates this season, please go to http://www.orangepippin.com and sign-in to your account.
After you have signed-in, go to Your Account, and click the link at the top - Your Trees. You can then select each of your trees in turn and record your values for the month and day of peak blossom. Press the Update button when you have finished each tree. If you have a lot of trees, you are welcome to send us a spreadsheet with the blossom data and we will update your records for you. You can also update blossom dates for plum trees in the same place.
The blossom data is now shown in our main variety listings.
Thanks very much for your interest and participation in this project. Please tell your friends to register their apple and plum trees - there are now more than 2,500 apple trees listed as well as a growing number of plum trees.
If you have any questions or comments, please just reply to this email.
