Heather’s Lovely Organic Granola

This is a very flexible recipe, so don't feel bound by it.  Just use what you have available.lovely snack pots


  • 250g Jumbo Oats
  • 25g  Mixed seeds - sesame, pumpkin and sunflower
  • 100g  Chopped Mixed Nuts - brazils, walnuts, pecans, hazels, almonds - any or all
  • 1 tbsp  good quality Vegetable oil - coconut, rapeseed or sunflower are all fine.
  • 5 tbsp  Maple Syrup or Agave or Coconut 
  • pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • few drops of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 100g dried fruit - sultanas, raisins, cranberries, blueberries, goji berries


  1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4 / 180C
  2. Mix the oats, Seeds and Nuts together in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in the oil and syrup, the cinnamon and vanilla extract (if using).  Give everything a good stir.
  4. Tip out onto a large baking tray and bake for 15 - 20 minbutes
  5. Half way through give another good stir cooking until nicely crisp and crunchy.
  6. Allow to cool then stir in the dried fruit.
  7. Store in an airtight container - Note it shold keep for a couple of weeks.
  8. Serve with fresh fruit and yogurt for Breakfast... or sprinkle on icecream for a dessert... or just have some dry in a little bowl to snack on.
